Eigenbrodt chose the cloud for security and focus

With operation and backup in safe hands, Eigenbrodt’s IT staff can focus on their own expertise. “Having a single supplier has meant a lot,” says Staffan Lönn.

“It’s nice not to have to think about where to turn in case of a disruption. That reassurance is our most cherished value.”

Staffan Lönn is Purchasing & Logistics Manager at the industrial company, Eigenbrodt. After operating their own IBM Power machine since 1999, they decided to let Qlosr run the entire operation a few years ago.

“In the past, we needed to figure out whom to talk to if something malfunctioned – if it was the hardware or software supplier, or some retail supplier we should contact. Now, we don’t have to worry about that.”

Stability and availability required

“It is important for Eigenbrodt that the operation works with high stability and availability. They run a support system that optimises the company’s purchasing on Power. The collaboration works well and without problems,” according to Staffan Lönn.

“Whenever we contact Qlosr employees, they are knowledgeable, pleasant, fast, and responsive.”

For Eigenbrodt, it has meant a lot that its IT staff can focus on the core business instead of operating and maintaining its Power servers, and that it now has a single supplier handling all operation and maintenance issues.

Secure backups and restore tests

In addition to receiving a stable and secure operation through its agreement with Qlosr, Eigenbrodt is also assisted with regular, secure backups to a secondary data centre separate from the daily production environment. On a daily basis, Qlosr’s staff verifiy that the backups are performed according to the agreed schedule. They also perform restore tests and are ready to help with data recovery should the need arise.
